Latest news! Sept. 2000 For those who didn't know this yet, Katarina and I are engaged to be married. We're getting hitched in Sweden in the Summer of 2001. I proposed to Katarina while we were on our Hawaiian vacation. She actually said yes, can you believe it? I broke down tonight and finally made some updates to our site. It is not finished yet and may never be but at least it has some new content. I'll be working on the main page over the next few days to make it load quick and be easier to navigate. I'll have to polish up on my html and FrontPage knowledge. Katarina's mom was just in town and as always it's a pleasure to have her for a visit. Berith is an excellent table tennis player. We had hours of fun competing. The three of us spent the time together hanging out at the house and enjoying the California summer. Katarina and Berith also crafted and sewed and did girly stuff until the wee hours of the morning. In fact they ran all over the bay area looking at wedding dresses and have apparently come up with a few really spectacular ones. I can't see it until the big day so don't expect to see any pictures of it anytime soon. Unfortunately Klas, Katarina's father, could not make this year so the annual dart match will have to be postponed. I would have crushed him anyway. Feb. 2000 Well, it's been about a hundred years since I updated the site. It is finally time for the Katarina page. This page was put together entirely by Kat with a little help from me. Now Kat is writing... "Yea, and you know what that means? It will NEVER be updated!" Also new is the Breckon page. Breckon is our roommate and although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, he still can serve a purpose (dog sitter, ice cube filler, rent payer, Costco shopper) I have seen some really cool sites on the WWW lately and they make me jealous since my page is so simple. I don't have the time to do anything sophisticated, I barely have time to keep what we have up to date. Recently we have been playing with stocks in hopes of retirement before we turn 35 but I think that may be a bit too aggressive. Jim Glutting is giving us lots of advise and we have tons of books on the subject. It's not rocket science so I think we can conquer it just like anything else. Our next outside project will be the yard. We need to completely redo the grass and plants and everything. The meatball, Katarina, is chomping at the bit to get out there with a tiller and break ground. We will wait until late February when I get back from China to get started. Kat's car broke down on the freeway the other day. She was quite bummed and I could not come to help her out. Of course she is tough like nails and called AAA to tow her home. If anyone has a few extra thousand dollars to donate to the Katarina car fund she has her eye on a nice new Volvo or SAAB. The Cleveland Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in one whale of a game this past Sunday, November 14th. I sat and watched as the Brownies appeared poised to give up the game but through some miracle and outstanding defensive and offensive play, they pulled off a win. Katarina and I are flying down to San Diego for the game against the Chargers on December 5th. Go Browns! Katarina and I went to see Riverdance this past Saturday Evening. It was a spectacular show. Riverdance spent a few days here at the Flint Center in Cupertino. A guy I used to work with sold me the tickets because he was moving to the east coast. He'd be kicking himself if he knew how good the seats were, front row center in the balcony. We brought in after eight dinner mints and Swedish raspberry candies to munch on while we soaked in the show. I upgraded to FrontPage 2000 and it is doing some weird stuff. I am working to get things the way I want them but it may be better to start over. Please check out the new stuff and let us know what you think. A few small updates can be found on the Swedish family page, the skiing page, the camping page, the house painting page, the Carmel page, and Kat's first golf round page. I have been very lazy with my WWW site responsibilities and as such no one has come to see our site forever. I will work to get updates at least once a month before Tripod (my space provider) kicks me out. I have added lots of pictures and verified that everything is working so that all of you could log on and see what we've been doing. I have made the new pages with thumbnails so they load in under a minute, I hope. Please send us an e-mail to our address below if you have problems or suggestions. Doing this WWW page stuff is fun. We are back from Sweden and have already slid back into the Silicon Valley groove. It has been extremely hot here, 95-100+ so we have had to keep the little rodent/dog inside. He has been fine, just pants a lot more these days. To see our trip report just click on the Sweden logo above. We will be camping and weekend vacationing as much as possible the final weeks of the summer. However, the summer does last here until early November. Keep coming back for updates. On a sad note, Klas (Katarina's Dad), won the Glutting-Johansson World Series of darts 2-1. We had a great camping trip over Memorial Day weekend. Our little dog just about lost his mind when he realized we were staying at a campsite for the night. He tasted every stick and licked every rock he could get his little mouth around. He had more energy than I have ever seen. By nightfall he was so exhausted that he curled up on his mat by the fire beside us and was out like a light in seconds. He didn't make a peep all night and slept like a baby in his crate. Katarina and I have been having lots of fun with him at the local parks and nature reserves. Despite my lazy protests, Katarina just might be able to force me to start running if I go out with her and Timber on these adventures. Timber is an awesome Golden Retriever who was breed by Sunshine Breeders in Oregon. He was seven and a half weeks old when he came to us and he has been growing like a weed. |
